Boost your career - Learn online courses from world's top Universities and Institutions

My previous post was about Freelance jobs. Hopefully, it has helped some of you to choose the right work from home job. 

Today, I will be sharing details about sites that offer online courses for free. I had mentioned about Alison in one of my previous posts. After doing further research, I have found a few more good websites that offer free online courses. These courses are designed by top Universities from around the world and they will help you boost your career.





Udemy - Udemy is a global marketplace for learning and teaching online where students are mastering new skills and achieving their goals by learning from an extensive library of over 65,000 courses taught by expert instructors. Udemy has free as well as paid courses.

Alison - I am mentioning about Alison in this post again for those who missed my previous post on Alison. Alison has hundreds and thousands of courses which you can learn for free. They have Certificate courses as well as Diploma courses. Alison covers a vast number of courses on various subjects like Business, IT, Health, Humanities, Language, Lifestyle, Marketing, Math and Science. You can learn all the courses for free at Alison. You have the option to buy Certificates once you complete your course. However, it is not mandatory to buy Certificates.

EdX - EdX has quality education for everyone. EdX has lot of courses from big universities/institutions like Harvard University, MIT, UC Berkeley, Microsoft, Tsinghua University, The Smithsonian and many more. With EdX, you can learn the courses for free. They too have an option of buying certificates for a cost. The certificate will have the edX partner institution name that created the course.

Coursera - Coursera provides universal access to the world’s best education, partnering with top universities and organizations to offer courses online. Every course on Coursera is taught by top instructors from the world’s best universities and educational institutions. Their courses are not free. They are priced at about $29-$99. Courses include recorded video lectures, auto-graded and peer-reviewed assignments, and community discussion forums. When you complete a course, you’ll receive a sharable electronic Course Certificate. They are partnered with institutions like John Hopkins University, University of Michigan, Stanford, UC San Diego, Duke University and many more.

Codecademy - Codecademy is an education company for all coders. At codecademy, you can learn to code interactively, for free. They cover subjects like Web Development, Programming, Data Science, Designing, etc. They cover coding languages like HTML & CSS, Python, Javascript, Java, SQL, Bash/Shell and Ruby.

These are some of the top websites that offer online courses. I have myself enrolled in a few courses to boost my career. As they say, 'Education always helps!'

  5. thats very informative. I am a post graduate and I want to study further. Its true it is not always possible when you have a family to sustain but these courses can be immensely helpful.

  6. Yes yes yes! Thank you for sharing this! I have been meaning to start an online course but I didn't really have all the information on the ones out there. I had only heard of Udemy and Code academy.
